With just over a month to go until the NRLA’s third annual conference, Chief Executive Ben Beadle explains why the event’s a firm favourite for property professionals across the board – and what this year’s line-up has to offer.
It’s back, and the biggest yet. The 2024 NRLA Landlord Conference couldn’t come at a better time, with the Government’s recently announced Renters’ Rights Bill bringing with it the biggest changes to the sector in a generation.
Following sell-out events in 2022 and ’23, we’ve secured an even bigger venue this year and will be welcoming landlords, agents and other property professionals to Birmingham’s NEC on November 6 to unpack the latest proposals – and much more.
Presented by TV favourite and Strictly star Nick Knowles of DIY SOS fame and with former Dragon’s Den star and investor James Caan as the keynote speaker, it’s an event not to be missed whether you’re a seasoned investor or just starting out in the business.
Renters’ Rights – what next
Covering everything from legislation change to investment news our expert industry speakers will offer valuable insight on the legislative changes up ahead, and what we as landlords can do to shape proposals going forward.
Lessons from industry leaders, including top brass at Leaders Romans Group, ProperPR and George Ellis Property Services will form part of the afternoon’s programme, along with property investment advice from landlord and developer Charlotte Edwards, with Executive Director of Zoopla Richard Donell sharing his market forecasts for 2025.
Focus on proptech
Innovation is at the heart of the NRLA offer, with the association always on the lookout for new ways to improve its digital offer to members and develop creative solutions to common problems
One of the highlights of this year’s event will be a session on proptech and how it can help you streamline your business as we look to the future.
The ‘Digital Landlords: Innovating the PRS’ panel discussion will see the NRLA’s own Innovation Director James Kent joined on stage by Anna Moore, Co-Founder & CEO of retrofit strategists Hestia,?Manoj Varsani, founder and CEO of accounting platform Hammock, and?Hannah Chappatte, founder of Hybr, which helps match students with suitable landlords and properties.
They will share details of their experiences and the impact that adopting a tech-first approach can have when it comes to running a successful – and profitable – business.
Exhibition hall
There will also be valuable networking opportunities and an exhibition hall showcasing a myriad of services and products from NRLA partners, including Tenancy Deposit Scheme and other relevant firms, many of whom will be offering exclusive discounts.
We believe it’s an event not to be missed on the landlord calendar….. and it’s not just us saying that, with last year’s delegates describing the event as ‘the best investment a landlord could make’, ‘inspiring and insightful’ with a ‘really excellent selection of speakers’.
There is no doubt the coming years will be challenging for us as a sector, but with the NRLA by your side you can rest assured that you will have all the information you need to adapt to change as it happens.
