For TDS Custodial, to register an account with us, please go to https://www.tenancydepositscheme.com/join/join-agent/ and select 'Join', then 'Agent’ joining options', then 'Join TDS Custodial'. You will be sent email to activate your account and create a password, after which you can log in to your new account and start protecting deposits.
These are the steps you need to follow in order to register your tenant’s deposit with the scheme.
- Log into your account at www.tenancydepositscheme.com using your email address and password
- Select 'Deposit Management'
- Select 'Add a new deposit'
- You will be asked for the property details, tenancy details and tenant's details
- At the end of the registration, please select your payment method and continue through the steps
- When we receive the deposit, we will send you a pre-populated version of the prescribed information template which you are required to give to your tenant(s) and any relevant persons (anyone who paid the deposit on behalf of the tenant(s) within 30 days of receiving the deposit. To ensure the template includes the circumstances in which you can retain the deposit at the end of the tenancy, please go to 'My Options', select 'My Portfolio', then 'Additional Information', then 'Edit'.
Once we have received the funds and they have been allocated to your account you will receive the Deposit Protection Certificate which will be emailed out to all parties. You will also need to serve on your tenants a copy of the Prescribed information and Scheme Leaflet within 30 days of receiving the deposit.
