If there is a dispute, what happens to the deposit?

Once TDS has been asked to resolve a deposit dispute, the landlord or the agent must send the disputed deposit amount to TDS.

This is required by law and failure to do so within 10 calendar days of TDS requesting it be paid into the scheme, may result in TDS membership being terminated. The landlord or letting agent should release any undisputed amount accordingly.
